User Guide
 
This image library contains a mix of unofficial and official images available for Coast Guard Auxiliary use.  All official images are copyrighted by the Coast Guard Auxiliary.  Please refer to the legal notice for details of its use.

The library is open to all to look at and download.  Only Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary members are allowed to upload new images.  When uploaded, the images will belong to the Coast Guard Auxiliary for use according to our usage policy.

Uploading Images
We will accept images that are related to Auxiliary activities.  Please don't upload images of Coast Guard activities that do not also contain and Auxiliary componet.  The Coast Guard has an image library that may accept those images in their library.  Also, the image would need to be of good quality and appropriate for our use.  Official CG Auxiliary items will be stored on the style library and must be approved before being posted.  Please see the style webmaster for posting official items to that website.

To upload a file, select the @ button and select Login.  All CG Auxiliary personal will use the ID and password below and the image will need to be approved by a Public Affairs staff member before it can be posted to the library.  If there is special needs for an upload or you have any questions, please contact the webmaster.  Images must be less then 4 MB to be accepted.

Browse to your file, then select continue.  You must fill in details about the file to better relate the picture to an Auxiliary activity.  Select continue and it will go to a pending state until one of the Auxiliary Image administrators can approve it to be published.  Sometimes an image will not be approved.  If you don't see your image in the library in a week, please email the webmaster and they can better explain the reason why it was not accepted.

User Accounts
If you are a member of National Staff and will be uploading images on a regular basis, we will create you an account to make tracking your submissions easier.  Please email the webmaster if you require this option.

Keyword Searches
In order to make global searches easier, it is necessary to standardized on a limited number of keywords.  We should not have more then 20 different keywords in use and all are listed below.  Please only use these when adding images to the library.  If you are unsure how to apply keywords, leave them blank when submitting and we will apply them when it gets added to the library.

History Used for all images more then 30 years old.
Posed Image where one or more people are posing for a picture.
Action Used for any action shot.
Fellowship Auxiliary Fellowship event
PE Public Education class
Training Auxiliary Training Event
Ribbon Used for award ribbons.
Operations Auxiliary Operations Event (Air, Sea, or Land)
Device Used for all uniform devices placed on a uniform except ribbons.
Flag Used for all flags, burgees, and pennants.
PDF Can be used for any image where a PDF is being used
PWC Used when a Personal Water Craft is being operated.
Boat Used when any boat or ship is being operated.
Aircraft Used when any Helicopter or Airplane is being operated.
Emergency Emergency picture of any Auxiliary event.  It can be a rescue at sea, a sinking boat, or any other life saving activity.
Lighthouse Used for all Lighthouse pictures.
POTW Picture of the Week collection.  This is where the National Public Affairs department selects a new picture every week to be displayed on the PA website.
PC Photo Corps picture.  The Auxiliary Photo Corps is a select group of Auxiliary members who travel around and take great pictures of CG events.
